We live in a multicultural and multiracial world that includes people from all walks of life, varying gender and sexual identities, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds and many other identities that make up the human experience. Philanthropy seeks to do good for others and foster human flourishing while working within the historical and systematic inequities that persist in our country and beyond. Using the power of storytelling, veteran journalist and philanthropy executive Alice Rhee of The Skoll Foundation will facilitate a discussion among philanthropy leaders of how individuals, organizations and community can embed equity from the inside out. Participants will learn: (1) how foundation leaders can build values of equity within their organizations; (2) lessons learned; and (3) how equity from inside of a foundation can lead to equity in grant-making and external engagement.
