The Harlingen Hometown Heroes Trail at Pendleton Park will be expanded by approximately a mile, made possible by a $396,020 grant that the Valley Baptist Legacy Foundation awarded to the city. The grant will allow the expansion of the one-half mile trail to 1.5 miles, Park and Recreation Director Javier Mendez told the City Commission recently.
