The Greater Houston Community Foundation is pleased to announce the promotion of Diana Zarzuelo to Vice-President of Community Philanthropy.

As a native Houstonian from an immigrant family, Diana has a deep passion for her hometown and creating a more vibrant and equitable region that benefits all communities. Diana’s passion for data and equity has fueled her outstanding leadership on Understanding Houston, the Foundation’s collaborative, regional indicators initiative. She plays a critical role in disaster relief and grants management at the Foundation, most recently through the Greater Houston COVID-19 Recovery Fund, a collaborative effort with United Way, in which $17 million was disbursed to address urgent needs through partnerships with 86 nonprofit grantees. As GHCF continues to expand its community leadership efforts, Diana will play a leading role in the evolution of that work in order for GHCF to fulfill its purpose in creating meaningful and positive change with our donors and for our community.

Prior to joining the Community Foundation, Diana served as the Senior Director of Strategy and Innovation at Baker Ripley leading the data and design team of the agency, and served on the White House Domestic Policy Council during the Obama Administration as a policy advisor on issues related to economic mobility and community development. She has a master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School with a social and urban policy concentration and an undergraduate degree in psychology and cultural anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband, two adorable kiddos, and being an active Board member of organizations she respects and admires.
