By Tony J. Fundaro, president & CEO, Philanthropy Southwest

Over the last few weeks we have been monitoring the outbreak of COVID-19 and its impact on communities throughout our region, nation, and world. We want to take a moment to update you on how Philanthropy Southwest is responding.

STAYING INFORMED
PSW is committed to following recommendations from recognized health authorities, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

TAKING CARE OF OUR TEAM & COMMUNITY
In order to do our part in preventing further spread of COVID-19 and in an attempt to help flatten the curve, as of March 16, the PSW office located in Dallas, Texas will be closed to external visitors. Our team will be working remotely during normal business hours and you may reach staff by email or by calling their direct lines or the PSW main line at 214.740.1787.

POSTPONING PLANNED EVENTS
With the support of our board of directors, and in line with CDC recommendations, PSW will be postponing our Spring Road Show event series and other in-person programs scheduled through May 31, 2020. We are grateful for the support of our members, stakeholders, partners, and those currently registered to attend our events, and we look forward to rescheduling these programs for future dates. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your understanding.

LEARNING FROM ONE ANOTHER DURING THIS TIME
In an effort to keep one another informed, we welcome ideas and updates from members and nonmembers on their experiences facing and responding to COVID-19 in their communities. We are uploading COVID-19 response and relief resources to a dedicated resource page on our website and have developed a COVID-19 online peer network group for on-going email communications among foundations. We hosted a funder webinar on March 19 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm CST, the recording of which you may view here

We thank you for your understanding and for all you are doing in your communities during this uncertain time. If you have feedback or questions, please feel free to email me at tony@philanthropysouthwest.org

My Best,

Tony J. Fundaro
