PSW Stands United Against Violence & Hate
We at Philanthropy Southwest are heartbroken and outraged by acts of violence and hate crimes across our country and communities, most recently in Boulder, CO and last week in Atlanta, GA.
As an organization that exists to strengthen its communities and people, we stand united against violence and acts of hate in all forms. We specifically want to use our voice to show support for our Asian American and Pacific Islander community, who have experienced a dramatic increase in hate crimes this past year. We know, however, that words are not enough at times like these. As a network of philanthropies, we will continue to listen and take meaningful action together with our members to advance solutions to end these horrific injustices that are plaguing our nation.
If you would like to invest your resources to support these hurting communities, please visit:
- Boulder, CO - The Community Foundation Boulder County to access a fund to support the victims, their families, and the Boulder community in dealing with and processing this tragedy
- Atlanta, GA - Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP) created a resource directory to connect philanthropy with established organizations and coalitions engaged in community efforts addressing anti-Asian violence
