Grantamakers for Effective Organizations recently interviewed Becky Pastner, program officer for Philanthropy Southwest member St. David’s Foundation.

From its early days investing in grantee capacity in 2007, to now, St. David’s Foundation, which focuses on improving the health of the underserved in central Texas, has gone from “spreadsheet to strategy” in its efforts to develop more comprehensive capacity-building programs. In GEO's Winter 2015 issue of IMPACT Becky, who leads the organization’s capacity-building work, tells us about the foundation’s history in capacity building and its new Capacity Academy, an opportunity for St. David’s grant partners to develop and implement targeted capacity-building efforts over a period of several years.
