Texas Child Welfare Funders Sponsors TexProtects Legislative Update Tour

Philanthropy Southwest's affinity group, Texas Child Welfare Funders, is sponsoring seven virtual educational events for funders this fall that will cover child welfare legislative updates and the dire shortage of foster beds in Texas right now. TexProtects will cover both topics and more in its Texas Tour, which will address issues regionally. All times are CST.

Rio Grande Valley - September 30, 2021 from 4:00 – 5:00 pm
- TexProtects and Easterseals Rio Grande Valley are partnering to host a community discussion on the results of the recent legislative session. We are excited to hear recommendations from stakeholders in your community on interim charges to ensure Texas families are supported and children are safe. We look forward to your participation in breakout discussions on how we can best utilize resources to provide early support to families with young children, prevent child abuse and neglect, address the state’s capacity crisis, and work together to transform the system and ensure success.
