We are excited to bring you for the first time - a special invitation for our donors and supporters - a live and dynamic conversation with one of Texas’ most influential champions for children and our long standing partner, Representative Tan Parker during Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Now, in his sixth term representing District 63, Rep. Parker will take us -behind the scenes- on the 3-year long evolution and journey (full of election and political dynamics!) of our Adverse Childhood Experiences Bill (House Bill 3493). He will reveal what it will take to get this nonpartisan bill passed by May, why prevention of ACEs matters and how they are relevant during a session where policymakers are dealing with COVID-19, broadband issues, and solving our energy crisis.
Rep. Parker’s partnership helps TexProtects put the P into our Prevention work as he shares our values in tested, credible results, salient reasoning, and the smart cost-effective solutions we bring to policy.
We look forward to seeing you on April 9.
Sincerely,
Sophie Phillips, CEO, TexProtects
Rep. Tan Parker has been one of TexProtects' most valuable children's champions over the past decade. He has successfully passed improved foster care reforms, child abuse prevention measures, protections for homeless teens, safeguards for victims of human trafficking, increased punishments for traffickers, and policies to improve wellness and safety for our youth. Rep. Parker is serving his 6th term in the Texas House of Representatives.
