Over a period of three years, Texas foundation giving has nearly doubled, reaching more than three billion dollars according to the latest reported 990’s. The framework for this session will be Philanthropy Southwest’s third landscape study on philanthropic giving in the Southwest. The session will also offer a historic perspective on foundation giving in Texas and the region. In that context, the presentation on foundation giving will provide an in-depth analysis along such interest vectors as rural and urban disparities and areas supported, from the arts and education to human services, health and the environment.

Learning Objectives:
•     Learn current philanthropic giving trends in San Antonio, Texas, and the Southwest
•     Gain a perspective which helps establish organizational priorities and recognizes areas of collaboration
•     Understand how the Giving Study is a critical resource, used by community leaders, funders and grantseekers to build knowledge, engage stakeholders in conversation, and strengthen philanthropic networks

Co-Sponsors:  Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio and San Antonio Area Foundation
