Hurricane Harvey - Lessons Learned on Disaster Recovery

Wednesday, June 12 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm CT / 10:00 am - 11:00 am MT

In the 21 months since Hurricane Harvey caused catastrophic damage to nearly 900,000 households across Texas, OneStar Foundation has continued to work with nonprofit, philanthropic and governmental partners to support long-term recovery efforts while the Greater Houston Community Foundation is currently administering a collaborative fund created by the City of Houston and Harris County. During this webinar, we will highlight rural and urban recovery successes and challenges, as well as provide an update on current unmet needs.

Our presenters will be Damian Morales, Manager of Disaster Services for OneStar Foundation, and Robert Sepeda, Program and Impact Manager for the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund administered by the Greater Houston Community Foundation. In addition to his role at OneStar, Mr. Morales serves as Secretary of Texas Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) and has supported statewide response and recovery efforts for eight federally declared disasters in Texas, including Hurricane Harvey. Mr. Sepeda helps ensure grantee compliance and reporting and supports the sharing of the impact the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund has provided to the community at large.

There will be a Q&A section at the end of the webinar, so please submit your questions in advance to info@philanthropysouthwest.org.

Philanthropy Southwest extends its thanks to Westwood Wealth Management (westwoodgroup.com) for their generous sponsorship of this webinar.
